College Counseling Services
First Session
Before the initial meeting (recommended to take place during sophomore or junior year), the client* will complete an intake questionnaire.
At the session, the client will receive:
Information on standardized testing
* Proposed testing schedule
* Test prep recommendationsResources on the inside scoop for colleges
Ideas for college visit planning and scheduling
Guidance on teacher recommendations: who and when to ask
An introduction to the Common Application
We will review all of this information together, in addition to building a preliminary list of potential colleges based on the responses to the intake questionnaire, which we will review and edit during the session.

Action plan for the common app
Ideas for teacher recommendations
Plan to optimize the summer before senior year to build a healthy resume
*Parent(s) are encouraged to attend this session. For the remainder of college counseling sessions, only the client needs to be present, but parents may attend if desired.
Subsequent Sessions
Throughout Junior Year
Review and update information on standardized testing, including scores and dates
Review college visits taken
Refine college list, identifying safety, target, and reach schools
Update plans for future college visits
Discuss progress on teacher recommendations
Review summer plans (volunteer and paid work, courses, travel)
Summer Between Junior & Senior Year
Start the Common Application with focus on the personal statement*
Game plan an application strategy: EA, EDI, EDII, Rolling, Restrictive EA
Create resume if needed
*Essay coaching sessions will start at the end of June / beginning of July and will continue through the fall as we revise the personal statement and work on supplemental essays. These sessions will be separate from the college counseling sessions.
Fall/Winter of Senior Year
Adjust application strategy as needed
Plan for and prepare Q&A for college admissions counselors’ visits to high school, including writing thank-you emails
Advice on letters of continued interest, if needed
Interview prep (commonly alumni interviews)

Hourly rate for face-to-face CC sessions (in-person or virtual), phone calls, and written communications
Package rate (without essay coaching) includes unlimited CC sessions, phone calls, and emails
